What Is CLE?
The Center for Life Enrichment is a continuing education, non-profit organization. It has a special relationship with Western Carolina University. The center is operated by a board of directors and has tax exempt status under Section 501(c(3) of the Internal Revenue Service.
The Board of Directors of the Center for Life Enrichment is proud to present our Program Series for your review and selection. This website provides you with information about the Center and the classes scheduled for this year.
Early registration is suggested,particularly for those classes with limits. Payment must accompany the registration form. We accept checks, VISA or Mastercard.
Who May Participate?
The courses are open to all persons in Highlands and the surrounding areas. Membership is encourage so that you may take advantage of discounted rates. Individual membership begins at $35 per year and provides discounted courses as well as the priority opportunity in registering for all courses.
When and How did it Begin?
In 1991, a small group began discussing their mutual interest in initiating a continuing education program in the area. The group expanded and organized in 1992 and offered its first series of courses in the summer of 1993. Complete programs have been delivered each summer since.
